A Trial Lawyer Practicing Personal Injury and Criminal Defense for 22 years in the West Coast of Florida
For 22 years, Walter L. J.R. Grantham, Jr., has been an attorney whose courtroom practice has involved the Florida Uniform Traffic Control Law, as well as other criminal offenses.
J.R.'s courtroom experience began in January 1987 as an intern prosecuting Misdemeanor crimes (including DUI) with James T. Russell, the State Attorney of the 6th Judicial Circuit while still in law school at Stetson University College of Law. Upon graduating Law School in May 1987, J.R. served as an Assistant State Attorney until May 31, 1990. While J.R. was an Assistant State Attorney he prosecuted all types of crimes, that included child sexual abuse, and was one of 6 attorneys responsible for investigating (including responding to the scene of alcohol related fatality accidents) and prosecuting DUI Manslaughter crimes.
In June of 1990 J.R. entered private practice as an Associate in the partnership of Hogan, Levine, Unice & Cario, became a partner in Levine & Grantham, and started his firm of Walter L. Grantham, Jr., P.A. in November 1992.
J.R.'s firm focus was originally criminal defense, but with the extensive courtroom litigation experience regarding Florida's rules of the road, it was a natural progression for J.R. to also represent those who were injured as a result of the negligence of others.
J..R.'s background and training has taught the importance of preparation, investigation and not assuming-but gathering the facts in order to achieve the best possible result for the client. Client's who are in need of J.R.'s experience realize that they are in a situation that has or can have tragic results, and are searching for an advocate who don't want someone just to tell their story, but who will present what happened, and strive to not only effectively represent them, but to help them put the bad circumstance behind them the best possible way.
