Should I Talk to the Insurance Company After an Accident?

No. Until you speak to an experienced lawyer about your accident, whether it involved a car, semi-truck or other commercial vehicle, you should not talk with anyone from the insurance company.

Insurance adjusters are skilled at saving companies money by mitigating damages and by settling claims for as little as possible. It is near-impossible for anyone to fully understand the extent of their injuries immediately following an accident, and you do not want to limit your ability to obtain fair compensation for medical expenses and other damages. You need a lawyer who will take all necessary steps towards getting you full and fair compensation.

What Kind of Compensation Am I Entitled To?

Depending on the circumstances of your accident, the compensation that you may be eligible to receive can vary. Typically, however, victims of motor vehicle accidents have the right to seek compensation for medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering and your future medical needs related to the accident. At my firm, I will thoroughly review your case and help you understand what benefits you deserve after an accident, and how we will use the facts of your case to prove that what happened to you is why you deserve compensation.

How Can I Pay for My Medical Bills While My Case is Pending?

Once you contact a lawyer and you file a claim for compensation against your insurance company, the process of recovery will begin. However, you likely have medical bills piling up and may lack the money to pay for those bills at this time. How will you afford that treatment prior to a settlement or verdict in your case?

In many cases, we are able to put bills on hold so that they avoid collection. My firm will get in touch with the accounting departments of the medical providers that are owed to negotiate later payments, given that there will likely be some potential recovery later on in the process. We want you to focus on getting better and seeing your case through to its final resolution, not on how to pay for necessary medical treatment.

Should I Delay the Decision to Contact an Attorney?

The sooner you talk with a lawyer, the more than can be done in your case. After getting immediate treatment for your injuries, contact my firm as soon as possible and schedule a free initial consultation to discuss your accident. Call toll free at 866-930-1843.
